Whenever anyone dies in a car crash it is a tragic event, especially for that person’s family members and other loved ones. Auto accidents tend to be one of the leading causes of accident-related deaths, and many times these accidents occur because someone makes a poor choice and acts recklessly or without regard for others. Careless or reckless drivers do not cause all accidents, but when they do, anyone who is hurt should be entitled to compensation. Additionally, when someone is killed because of a negligent driver, then his or her family members should also be compensated for their loss.
The family of a Sterling Heights man is grieving their loss, after the 31-year-old man was killed in a two-car crash recently. According to preliminary reports, the man was killed when the vehicle he was driving was struck by an SUV being driven by a 58-year-old woman, also from Sterling Heights. The woman who was driving the SUV reportedly slammed into the other vehicle’s driver side door as she was attempting to make a left hand turn. The woman suffered only minor injuries.
According to authorities, the woman reportedly did not see the other vehicle as she attempted to turn. Investigators have said that so far neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have played a role in the incident. However, authorities are still investigating the crash and they say that charges could still be filed. If the woman is eventually charged for her role in the crash, then she could also face a wrongful death lawsuit at some point.
These kinds of events are always a terrible thing to have to go through for anyone involved, including the person who is responsible for the accident. However, when someone makes a bad decision while he or she is behind the wheel of a vehicle then he/she could be held responsible and be order to pay damages. No amount of money can bring a person back or heal his or her injuries, but it can help grieving family members with expenses that incur because of the accident. It can also help them focus on recovering instead of having to worry about paying bills.
